FIGHTING FOR YOU
Lower Costs & Taxes
The foremost duty of elected officials is to keep residents safe. Mark Johns has spent his career standing with law enforcement, first responders, and the people who put their lives on the line to protect our communities. As a former State Assemblyman, Mark voted against New York’s bail reform laws and fought against Albany’s soft-on-crime agenda, supporting common-sense policies that put victims and law-abiding families first.
As a County Legislator, he has backed major investments in public safety, including a historic expansion of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and support for the volunteer fire and EMS agencies our communities depend on. Mark knows public safety is not a slogan. It means supporting those who protect us, holding criminals accountable, and rejecting the reckless policies that have made too many New Yorkers less safe.
Safer Streets
Promoting growth, protecting taxpayers, and lowering everyday costs are among Mark Johns’ top priorities. As a County Legislator, Mark helped deliver the lowest property tax rate in Monroe County history. As State Assemblyman, Mark also fought against the Albany taxes, surcharges, and climate-driven mandates that continue to drive up utility bills and make energy more expensive for families, farmers, and small businesses. During his time in the Assembly, he was part of a reform effort that specifically called for reducing state-imposed energy costs such as the Systems Benefit Charge, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, and the 18-A utility tax surcharge. knows that rising energy costs are not an accident - they are the result of bad decisions from Albany. That is why he will continue fighting for lower taxes, lower utility bills, and a more affordable New York.
Stronger Communities
For Mark Johns, our communities should not just endure - they should thrive. Throughout his service, Mark has built a record of standing up for the issues that matter most across this district, from protecting Lake Ontario shoreline communities, to fighting for stronger state support for local roads, bridges, and culverts that rural towns and working families rely on every day.
Mark understands that strong communities require more than promises. They require safe neighborhoods, reliable infrastructure, support for local jobs and agriculture, and leaders who focus on results instead of political games. Mark also believes public office is about service, not entitlement. That is why he supports term limits and the principle that no elected position should become a permanent seat of power. Voters deserve accountable leadership and representatives who never forget they work for the people.
