ABOUT MARK

Mark Johns previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2011-2020 and currently represents the 8th Legislative District in the Monroe County Legislature, representing the eastern half of the Town of Webster. Mark was appointed and subsequently elected in 2022 and re-elected in 2023, he is currently serving a four-year term. In the Legislature, Mark serves as Ranking Member of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee and a member of the Recreation & Education Committee.  He has previously served as Chairman of the Agenda/Charter Committee, Vice Chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee and a member of the Planning and Economic Development Committee.

A lifelong Webster resident, Legislator Johns graduated from St. John Fisher College (Biology and Chemistry) and is retired from the County of Monroe where he worked in public service from 1977 to 2010. He previously served his community as a member of the Webster Town Board from 2008-2010. Additionally, he is a proud volunteer for the Salvation Army and YMCA, and enjoys participating in local summer reading programs, blood drives, and gift collections.
